Hartford Pound dogs are found in junkyards, abandoned
buildings and city streets. They are given 10 days to find a
new home before they are euthanized. We have no
medical history on them, so they'll need at least
some basic veterinary care (vaccines & such).
These are dogs who would make fantastic companions if
given a chance.
The term "Legal Day of Adoption" that you see in the dog
descriptions refers to the day the dog can leave the pound -
this is also the day that the dog will be euthanized if it has not
been claimed or adopted. If you meet a dog in person that you
want to adopt, you can put it on hold before its Legal Day of
Adoption.
